As their Farms became residential areas, I became a collector of "Family Bottles".

Orchard Farm Dairy was owned & operated by G. Albert Finke. His dairy was located at 2151 River Road,

Schenectady, NY. Orchard Farm bottled & delivered milk and dairy products in the area for 37 years.

Wm Green Jr founded Greens Ice Cream & Bottled Milk from 1926 under three names, Wm Green Jr. --Green`s Farm Dairy At 1701 Union street--- Green Acres Dairy Farm on Rt.7 and Mill Road, Milk & Dairy Products & Greens Milk, all in the Schenectady and Latham areas of New York. Wm. Green, had over a dozen Ice Cream Depots in the Capital District Area, We often went to his Ice Cream locations to enjoy the largest icecream cones ever made for 5 cents. That much Ice Cream today would cost about $ 4.50 a cone. Wm Green was also know for his famous Browncow Drink, which was made from Chocolate Milk and Vanilla Ice Cream, Old Timers still talk about the rich creamy taste.

Twins Farm Dairy was owned & operated by Albert & Alfred Green on the farm at 1400 Balltown Road in Schenectady, NY. They delivered milk for 28 years. I peddled milk with them in the early morning hours, baled hay, cleaned the barn and played in the haymow for years.
